Jesse

Jesse was the son of Obed, grandson of Boaz and Ruth, and the father of King David. A faithful man from Bethlehem, his family became the foundation of Israel's royal lineage, leading ultimately to Jesus Christ. He is remembered as the root from which the house of David grew.
